About the Role:
The organization is seeking a strong Accounting Manager who has previous experience working in a contract-driven staffing business. This role will play a critical part in the finance function, with key areas of focus around strengthening accounting processes, improving reporting accuracy, and leading a high-performing team.
This individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, while also being a proactive people leader who can guide, mentor, and develop a team of four. The position offers strong visibility across the business and the opportunity to partner closely with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations for the organisation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across all core processes.
Own and enhance the month-end close process, driving improvements to reduce timelines and ensure full compliance with US GAAP principles.
Review and oversee key accounting deliverables, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting outputs.
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 4 accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Act as the primary internal point of contact for external auditors during the year-end audit process, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit cycle.
Business partner with divisional leaders across the organisation to ensure the accurate and timely flow of financial data.
Support oversight of the tax process, working alongside external advisors to ensure compliance and timely filings.
Prepare and deliver insightful, accurate, and timely financial reports, including variance analysis and commentary for leadership.
Identify, manage, and communicate balance sheet risks, ensuring appropriate controls and mitigation strategies are in place.
Assist with cash flow tracking and forecasting, supporting visibility and decision-making across the business.
Drive process and system improvements across accounting operations, including leveraging Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to enhance reporting and efficiency.
Collaborate closely with senior finance leadership, acting as a key contributor to ongoing finance transformation initiatives.
Requirements:
CPA or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working within a staffing or contract-driven organisation (essential).
Proven experience managing and developing a team, with at least a few direct reports.
Strong technical accounting knowledge, with a solid understanding of US GAAP and month-end close processes.
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements across accounting and reporting functions.
Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (required).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively across multiple business functions.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
