What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Camino Search?
Camino is partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed company that has built a modern, technology-driven platform for managing the full lifecycle of IT assets — procurement, deployment, retrieval, and storage — for organizations ranging from startups to global enterprises. Operating across dozens of countries, the business gives distributed teams real-time visibility into their global equipment fleet and eliminates the manual work traditionally associated with IT logistics.
The company is in an exciting growth phase, with an expanding enterprise customer base and increasing international complexity. As it scales, it's investing in building out a best-in-class accounting function.
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and serve as a key partner to the CFO. This is a builder's role: you'll own the close process, strengthen controls, lead a major ERP migration, and manage the accounting implications of a growing international footprint. Great fit for someone who wants to build and modernize a function — not maintain one that's already built.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring GAAP compliance
- Manage the general ledger, AP, AR, and revenue recognition
- Build a strong internal controls environment
- Lead the finance side of a transition from the company's current ERP to NetSuite, including chart of accounts design and data migration
- Own accounting and consolidation for international entities, including multi-currency reporting
- Manage the external audit process and serve as primary contact for auditors and tax advisors
- Build and mentor a lean, efficient accounting team as the function scales
- Partner with FP&A and Operations on forecasting, vendor terms, and working capital
What We're Looking For
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller experience
- CPA strongly preferred
- ERP implementation experience (NetSuite a significant plus; Acumatica or similar also valuable)
- International, multi-entity accounting and consolidation experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge and a track record building internal controls
- Comfortable running a lean, high-output function
- Prior experience in a high-growth, venture-backed startup or scale-up
- Logistics, supply chain, procurement, or IT services experience a plus
Why This Role
Build and modernize an accounting function at a company in an exciting growth phase. Gain international, multi-entity exposure with support as you ramp up. Direct partnership with the CFO and high visibility into strategic decisions.
