Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, noting changes in condition or behavior and reporting findings accurately.
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs.
- Operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers to ensure client safety during movement.
- Maintain a clean environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning patient areas and laundry.
- Document patient care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive atmosphere for clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities.
- Follow safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred.
- Hands-on experience with patient observation, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and care planning.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or memory care needs is highly valued.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Experience using mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients.
