Lead Line Coordinator (LLC)
Location: Greensboro, NC
Position Type: Hourly
Overview:
The Lead Line Coordinator (LLC) is responsible for coordinating daily line operations, supporting production flow, and ensuring employees follow standard work instructions. This role replaces the former hourly supervisor classification and focuses on hands‑on line leadership rather than disciplinary or high‑level decision‑making authority.
LLCs serve as the first point of contact for employees on the line and partner closely with Shift Supervisors and Production Managers to maintain safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily workflow on assigned production line(s).
- Ensure employees are in correct positions and trained for assigned tasks.
- Support start‑ups, changeovers, and line balancing.
- Communicate production goals and track progress throughout the shift.
- Reinforce safety rules, PPE usage, and safe work practices.
- Conduct basic quality checks and escalate issues to supervisors.
- Ensure employees follow SOPs and standard work instructions.
- Provide hands‑on training for new hires and temporary employees.
- Answer questions and assist employees with tasks or equipment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for minor concerns or issues.
- Complete basic production logs, counts, and downtime tracking.
- Report attendance issues, performance concerns, or policy violations to supervisors.
- Communicate shift updates during handoff.
- Escalate safety, quality, or behavioral issues to the Shift Supervisor or Production Manager.
- Support investigations by providing factual information when requested.
- Participate in and support Tier 1 meetings, including communicating updates, reviewing KPIs, and addressing action items.
- Ensure accurate timekeeping by reviewing and approving employee punches, corrections, and attendance in Paycom.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of manufacturing or production experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to lead by example and support team members.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of safety and quality requirements.
- Ability to train others and follow standard work.
