Shift Supervisor

Overview:
The Shift Supervisor provides flexible, cross‑department leadership coverage to support daily operations, employee oversight, and production continuity. This role fills leadership gaps created by absences, training, investigations, and peak volume. The Shift Supervisor ensures consistent policy enforcement, safety compliance, quality standards, and real‑time coaching across assigned departments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily leadership coverage across assigned departments and shifts.
- Maintain production flow by ensuring lines are staffed, trained, and meeting targets.
- Support start‑up, changeovers, downtime recovery, and shift handoff communication.
- Monitor KPIs and escalate issues to Production Managers as needed.
- Provide real‑time coaching to LLCs, Leads, and hourly employees.
- Support performance conversations, documentation, and corrective action preparation.
- Reinforce expectations around attendance, productivity, and behavior.
- Ensure all employees follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout rules.
- Conduct safety walks, hazard identification, and incident response.
- Partner with HR and Safety on investigations and follow‑up actions.
- Manage safety training completion rates and ensure all required training is completed on time.
- Monitor adherence to SOPs, quality checks, and inspection standards.
- Support root‑cause analysis for defects, scrap, or rework.
- Ensure proper documentation and escalation of quality issues.
- Assist with fact‑finding, witness interviews, and documentation during ER investigations.
- Provide leadership presence during conflicts, escalations, or policy violations.
- Support onboarding and training for new hires and temporary employees.
- Rotate between departments based on daily needs.
- Provide coverage for supervisor absences, vacations, and training.
- Serve as the escalation point when LLCs require higher‑level support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated safety training knowledge and ability to maintain a strong compliance rate
- Ability to coach, train, and influence employees at all levels.
- Strong communication, documentation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends when needed.
