Job Description: Sterile Processing Technician (Evening Shift) – Urbana, IL
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week contract assignment at a facility in Urbana, IL, with the potential for extension. This position offers a DAYS; M-F: 2pm-1030pm schedule, working from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with 40 approved hours per week. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sterile processing within healthcare settings and a commitment to patient safety and infection control.
Job Details:
- Location: Urbana, IL
- Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension
- Shift: DAYS; M-F: 6am-2:30pm
- Approved Hours: 40 hours per week
Requirements:
- Eight plus (8) years of experience Required
- Three to four (3-4) years of Travel experience.
- Required
- -Experience with Trays, Decontamination, and Sterilization–
- Required
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) – Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association – Required
- Full COVID-19 vaccination – RequiredKey Responsibilities
:
- Decontaminate, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and equipment.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper maintenance.
- Assemble and package instrument trays, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Operate sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and high-level disinfectors, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, sterilization standards, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies.
