Job Title: GI/Endoscopy Technician
Location: Mission Hills, CA
Shift: Day Shift | 4x10-hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with GI and pulmonary procedures including EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, Bronchoscopy, PEG/GJ placements, double-balloon enteroscopy, enteroscopy, and foreign body removal.
- Prepare procedure rooms, ensuring all equipment, supplies, and instrumentation are properly set up and functioning.
- Handle, operate, and troubleshoot specialized GI/Endo equipment including ERBE, EHL, Spyglass, ultrasound, balloon dilators, snares, forceps, and foreign body retrieval tools.
- Perform safe and accurate scope processing, including cleaning, leak testing, high-level disinfection (HLD), and storage of bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD scopes, ERCP scopes, fiber optics, and related instruments.
- Support specimen handling, labeling, and transport for pathology and gastric brushing samples.
- Follow strict infection prevention, sterilization, and universal protocol guidelines (time-out procedures).
- Assist with patient preparation, monitoring, positioning, and post-procedure recovery under RN and physician direction.
- Maintain adequate supply levels and restock procedure rooms and carts as needed.
- Ensure accurate documentation in Epic and support workflow in Provation (preferred).
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent GI/Endoscopy experience required.
- Experience assisting with advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP, EUS, EBUS, and bronchoscopy strongly preferred.
- Proficient with endoscopic equipment, high-level disinfection, and scope reprocessing systems (Medivators HLD preferred).
- BLS certification required.
- LA City Fire Card required (must be issued within the last 30 days).
- SGNA certification preferred.
- Experience in teaching hospitals, community hospitals, or trauma-level facilities preferred.
- Experience with Epic charting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of infection control, aseptic technique, and universal protocol.
- Ability to participate in required on-call rotations every other weekend and one weekday.

Pay: $2,000.00 - $2,100.00 per week
