- Lead a group of employees, oversee work activities and engage in various forms of communication and judgment.
- Train employees in proper procedures and job skills.
- Ensures accurate, up-to-date records of inventory.
- Oversees and participates in counting, weighing and measuring incoming (raw materials) and outgoing (finished goods) to compare identifying information and verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records.
- Input and/or look up data on the computer and/or in files or other documents to maintain paperwork and reporting requirements of the job.
- Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to verify.
- Assign work to employees at the start of each shift, and/or communicate various other information required to ensure smooth production.
- Operate Material Handling Equipment to load/unload trucks.
- Ensure containers are properly labeled, incoming and outgoing.
- Follow all safety regulations concerning industrial vehicle operation.
- Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two plus years of experience in shipping/receiving preferable in automotive manufacturing.
- Two years of operating Material Handling Equipment.
- Ability to lead a group of employees in support of materials activities.
- Ability to maintain adherence to established procedures and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to model company appropriate behaviors and to set proper examples for subordinates.
- Knowledge of IATF16949 Quality Standards.
- Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.
- Computer literacy skills include the ability to perform data entry and to operate visual ‘touch screen’ display panels.
- Knowledge of related safety requirements.
- Math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required.
