Job Description and Duties

DSH-Napa Mall Services Department has a vacancy for a permanent full-time Office Technician (Typing). Candidates should possess good interpersonal skills, be able to multi-task, be energetic, timely and organized. Office Technicians (OT) at Mall Services perform a variety of general and specialized functions and should have initiative in performing assigned duties. The OT needs to feel comfortable interacting with the patients and staff. Duties include phone, copier/scanner/fax/printer usage, record keeping, filing, and mail distribution. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and computer competencies including Word and Excel programs.

To ensure that your application will be considered for this recruitment the following items are required:

  • You must complete the STD. 678 Employment Application
  • Duties performed and Supervisor’s name and Contact information must be completed on the STD 678. - Incomplete applications will be screened out.
  • Attach a copy of proof of degree and transcripts if using education to meet the minimum qualification.
  • You are required to pass the Office Technician (T) Exam - EX 2012 please read the exam bulletin in its entirety
  • A typing certification is required and must be attached with your application

Acceptable Typing certificates are those issued within the last four years and certified from a five (5) minute typing test with a minimum of 40 WPM (words per minute). Typing certification must be 5 minutes in length and proctored either virtually or in person. Unacceptable typing certifications are from tests that were not proctored and less than 5 minutes long.

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres.
