Under general supervision, the X-Ray Runner / Medical Records Clerk supports the Radiology and Medical Records departments in a high-volume outpatient orthopedic clinic. This position assists patients between clinical areas, supports X-Ray Techs, and manages electronic medical records and related administrative tasks. - Assist XRay Techs by escorting and assisting patients from exam rooms to the radiology department
- Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, staff, and physicians
- Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times
- Support providers and staff with radiologyrelated workflows as needed
- Scan and index loose documents into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in appropriate folders
- Sort and distribute incoming electronic faxes and correspondence
- Prepare, process, and send medical records and radiology images per requests, subpoenas, or authorizations
- Send tasks for document review, editing, or physician followup
- Assist with correspondence lists by faxing, mailing, or electronically routing documents
- Answer and return phone calls related to medical records requests
- Support general office duties including sorting mail, distributing supplies, and maintaining paper inventory
- Complete special projects as assigned by management or physicians
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail

- High school diploma or GED required
- 12 years of experience in a medical records, clinical, or healthcare office setting preferred
- Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Basic keyboarding and 10key skills
- Experience with Citrix, Allscripts, TouchChart, Epic, Merge
- Knowledge of DICOM imaging format
- Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Work performed in a clinical and office setting
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity for typing, scanning, and handling office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively using spoken and written word
