Effective January 1, 2026, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) will change the classification name of Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) to Analyst II. The probationary period will be 12 months for all new appointments with a start date after this change is implemented. Public Safety Communications (PSC) serves the state of California by providing public safety communications to the state’s first responders and oversight of the 9-1-1 system to the people of California. The PSC is dedicated to the preservation and protection of human life and public safety by delivering reliable and dependable communication services keeping the public connected during times of crisis.
In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.
