Job Description And Duties
Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least (1) Permanent, Full-Time, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LFMT).
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists serve as an ancillary part of a patient’s treatment team and are responsible for providing Individual and Group Therapy; Conducting mental health screenings; Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with the patients’ Treatment Team to address any treatment related concerns and provide critical observations related to patient care and treatment provided.
Successful candidates will have knowledge of human development, as well as the principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental health disorders that prevent successful adjustment to community living. Successful candidates will also possess excellent organization and communication skills. Candidates are required to work any shift and schedule, including but not limited to, evenings and weekends in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other work locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital.

- Human problems and symptoms that prevent successful adjustment to community living
- Community organization principles
- Scope and activities of public and private health and welfare agencies
- Characteristics of mental, developmental, and physical disabilities
- Diagnostic criteria and related behavioral, emotional, and relational problems and corresponding treatment modalities
- Cultural diversity and relevant therapeutic implications
- Current trends in mental health, public health, substance use disorders and public welfare, and Federal and State programs in these fields
