The Facilities Manager works under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II and directly and independently manages the Facilities Management and Safety Section. The Facilities Manager has primary management oversight for and provides leadership, direction, and supervision to analytical or clerical classifications responsible for functions related to facilities, telecommunications, health and safety, and asset management for the California Justice Information Services Division. The Facilities Manager is the first working supervisor level responsible for the employees performing journeyperson level work and verifies, assigns, and reviews all work projects produced by their staff. The Facilities Manager must exercise a high degree of initiative and independence in this capacity and must have extensive knowledge of the state policies and procedures for these functional areas and is responsible for performing numerous, varied and sensitive analytical projects.
