Job Description And Duties
The California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Human Resources Office is hiring for highly-motivated individuals with analytical and organizational skills to join our team of talent. Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, Classification and Selection Unit, the Staff Services Analyst performs a range of classification and selection assignments for DIR. This includes reviewing, analyzing, and making determinations on hiring packages, reviewing and making recommendations for various requests such as Out-of-Class and Training and Development assignments, and providing consultative services to assigned division hiring managers or their designees. The incumbent also assists in a variety of special projects.
Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month. We offer a hybrid work schedule that is consistent with the department’s telework policy. The incumbent works in an office and telework setting. The Human Resources Office space is established with sit/stand cubicle workstations and exposed to natural and artificial lighting. Being in a stationary position for long periods of time. The incumbent will use a computer and office equipment including a printer, copier, and telephone.
This office will be relocating in December 2025, to the renovated New Labor Agency Building in Downtown Sacramento, at 1416 9th Street.
