Job Summary

Job Description and Duties

This position is a member of the Classification and Pay Unit (C&P) within Human Resources Services (HRS). This role partners closely with hiring managers and program liaisons to support thoughtful, equitable, and efficient hiring and personnel actions The analyst assists hiring managers through classification, pay, and personnel processes, helping them navigate policies while ensuring a smooth and positive experience for all key partners.

This role coordinates significant steps of the hiring and personnel action process and is responsible for—communicating with candidates, collaborating with program staff, and keeping everything moving forward. This position blends analytical work with meaningful relationship-building opportunities and is great for someone who enjoys analytical work, problem-solving, and building strong working relationships across an organization. This role will gain hands-on experience with complex HR processes, work closely with a supportive team and have the opportunity to support the mission of HCAI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze and make recommendations on duty statements
  • Review, analyze and ensure accuracy of organizational charts and re-organization requests
  • Review, analyze and make recommendations related to screening criteria and interview questions
  • Ensure personnel and hiring actions meet allocation guidelines and follow all civil service rules, laws and policies
  • Evaluate, review application materials and make minimum qualification determinations
  • Collaborate with teams within administrative services
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external contacts

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) hours each month.
