Under the general supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs the more professional accounting work in the processing and maintenance of accounts and financial records for travel related activities the California Automated Travel Expense Reimbursement System.
Please review the Classification Specifications to ensure possession of the Minimum Qualifications of the classification. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to appointment.
If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you are encouraged to upload and submit your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification in your application packet. An applicant with a college degree obtained outside the United States that does meet accreditation standards must have education records evaluated by a credentials evaluation service. The incumbent works in an office setting, with artificial light and temperature control. Daily access to and use of a personal computer and telephone is essential. Hybrid telework may be approved by the department.
Special Requirements
The SOQ must be in 12 pt. Arial font; have 1" margins; be limited to no more than two (2) single-spaced pages and be in narrative form (no bullet points). Only complete applications that include an SOQ will be reviewed and only the most qualified candidates will be interviewed. Resumes and Cover Letters do not take the place of the Statement of Qualifications. The SOQ must address the following:
Describe your experience and skills in customer service, specifically when dealing with an employee or vendor who is frustrated about a delayed or denied reimbursement claim. Please provide a specific example.
