Primary Duties- Create and optimize manufacturing workflows for both current and incoming products
- Draft essential process documentation, such as labor standards, process flows, and detailed work instructions
- Facilitate the successful introduction of new products and manage production scaling
- Utilize Lean methodologies to assess and enhance production floor layouts
- Utilize structured problem-solving techniques like 8D and root cause analysis to resolve manufacturing obstacles
- Oversee the implementation of Engineering Changes and ensure all related documentation is current
- Provide technical assistance during the installation, modification, and upgrading of production equipment
- Partner with maintenance staff to boost equipment reliability and minimize operational downtime
- Coordinate with vendors to verify equipment performance and confirm manufacturing readiness
- Contribute to facility upgrades and capital improvement initiatives
- Utilize AIAG Core Tools to support daily engineering tasks and launch phases
- Track production metrics to foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Engage in multidisciplinary launch teams to ensure production readiness
- Travel to customer or vendor locations to assist with troubleshooting or new launches
- Help maintain a safe, high-quality, and efficient working environment for the entire team
Essential
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Background in process engineering, production, or general manufacturing
- Knowledge of industrial or assembly-based manufacturing settings
- Competency in AutoCAD and various engineering software applications
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Preferred
- Three to five years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering
- Background in high-volume production or the automotive sector
- Familiarity with industrial equipment, robotics, or automation systems
- Experience in coordinating or planning maintenance activities
- Exposure to Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience contributing to new product launch cycles
In specific instances, relevant practical manufacturing experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
