About the Role

As a CNC Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the production of intricate medical components by optimizing machining processes and leading technical development projects. You will leverage your expertise in multi-axis programming and process improvement to drive manufacturing excellence and ensure high-precision outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine complex CNC programs for milling, turning, and grinding operations, specifically focusing on multi-spindle and Swiss-style equipment.
  • Translate engineering drawings and 3D models into optimized machining strategies, selecting appropriate tooling and feed rates to maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, ensuring seamless transitions from prototype to full-scale production.
  • Enhance legacy manufacturing programs to boost throughput and standardize processes according to industry best practices.
  • Partner with Quality Engineering to establish robust process control plans, inspection protocols, and specialized fixturing requirements.
  • Execute hands-on machine set-ups for first-article inspections and new product introductions to validate process integrity.
  • Design custom fixtures and tooling solutions to support complex post-processing operations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC programming and machine set-up within a high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in NC code generation and manufacturing process optimization.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex blueprints, including comprehensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated success in applying analytical reasoning to troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical manufacturing challenges.
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in CAD/CAM software suites, with specific proficiency in SolidWorks and Esprit.
  • Proven track record of success in the medical device or highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical data effectively to diverse stakeholders.
