About Caledonia Food Co-op
Caledonia Food Co-op is a member-owned grocery store that draws together the diverse communities of Caledonia County and surrounding areas in an inclusive space supporting food justice, local resilience, environmental stewardship, area food producers and a vibrant downtown St. Johnsbury.
Essential Job Duties
- Receive and inspect incoming products for quality and accuracy
- Replenish and rotate displays, culling several times daily
- Follow stocking priorities set by Produce Manager
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation, backroom, and storage areas
- Follow greens program as instructed by Produce Manager
- Ability to answer customer questions in a friendly, courteous manner
- Date and rotate back stock to minimize waste
- Relays information to diverse groups
Additional Duties
- Assists in special projects, assists in other departments as needed, and performs other duties as assigned

Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
- Works with guidance from Department Manager
- Performs a limited number of tasks as dictated by department demands
- Ability to read and understand invoices and product tags and learn established organizational systems
- Standing for long periods, bending, walking, reaching, and sitting
- Ability to climb up and down stepladders and stairs daily
- Able to lift and carry up 50 lbs. as needed throughout the day
- Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, stepladders, and pallet jacks
Experience and Educational Requirements
- There are no educational requirements, though grocery, produce, or natural foods experience is a plus.
Other Qualifications
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state & local standards - including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state and local standards
