About Caledonia Food Co-op
Caledonia Food Co-op is a member-owned grocery store that draws together the diverse communities of Caledonia County and surrounding areas in an inclusive space supporting food justice, local resilience, environmental stewardship, area food producers and a vibrant downtown St. Johnsbury.
Essential Job Duties
- Accept payment and accurately make change for transactions utilizing the POS system
- Enter correct prices, departments, and PLUs for products
- Balance cash draw at end of shift and meet over/short goal
- Invite/recruit non-member customers to become members of the Co-op
- Follow state laws and Co-op policies regarding the sale of alcohol
- Assist customers with product questions in a friendly, courteous manner and answers/directs calls as necessary
- Stock product on the shelves in dry grocery, produce, dairy, deli, meat and frozen departments
- Facing and organizing shelves, end caps, and sale displays
- Keep departmental shelves and display areas stocked, neat, clean, and product(s) rotated
- Relays information to diverse groups
Additional Duties
- Assists in special projects, assists in other departments as needed, and performs other duties as assigned

Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
- Basic math skills and ability to count change
- Works with guidance from Department Manager
- Performs a variety of tasks as dictated by department demands
- Standing for long periods, bending, walking, reaching, and sitting
- Ability to climb up and down stepladders and stairs daily
- Able to lift and carry up 50 lbs. as needed throughout the day
Experience and Educational Requirements
- There are no educational requirements, though grocery or natural foods experience is a plus.

- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state & local standards - including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state and local standards
