Senior / Principal Accountant

Summary of Role
We are seeking a Senior / Principal Accountant to support core accounting operations within a dynamic Oil & Gas environment. This role will contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting systems, financial processes, and internal controls, while delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis to support business decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings strong US GAAP expertise, experience handling complex accounting activities, and the ability to operate cross-functionally within a fast-paced, operationally driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and improvement of accounting systems, processes, policies, and internal controls
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries and accounting transactions
- Analyze and resolve complex accounting issues and financial discrepancies
- Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations of financial results
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve financial and operational issues
- Coordinate financial reporting and contribute to business performance analysis
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies
- Assist in strengthening internal controls, risk mitigation, and audit readiness
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience (Oil & Gas preferred)
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience with complex accounting analysis and reconciliations
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working with financial systems and reporting tools
- CPA Eligible or CPA Certification Required. Will not be considered without eligibility or immediate proximity toward eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in upstream, midstream, or oilfield services accounting
- Familiarity with financial performance metrics such as CVA/NOVA
- Exposure to statutory reporting and regulatory compliance
- Experience supporting audits and internal control frameworks
- Demonstrated project management capabilities
