Position Overview

Calculated Hire is seeking a Proposal Specialist to assist with the processing and research of an increased seasonal volume of sales leads. The primary focus will be on the E-Rate program, a government-subsidized initiative where public schools and libraries submit Request for Proposals (RFPs) for telecommunications services.

The Proposal Specialist will validate incoming leads by analyzing service viability, assessing alignment with our service catalog and requirements, and identifying potential risks. They will initiate site survey requests via Salesforce to enable the Construction team to evaluate fiber build feasibility and costs.

Working closely with sales representatives, the Proposal Specialist will help strategize responses to bids. When a lead is fully validated, they will create an opportunity record in Salesforce to serve as the central hub for tracking the bid process from initiation through completion. This role requires strong data entry, organizational, and communication skills.

This position is fully on-site in Town & Country, MO.

Key Responsibilities

• Review incoming bid opportunities, applications, and RFPs to determine viability and qualification.
• Conduct research using internal systems and databases to validate opportunity details.
• Analyze customer requirements, services requested, contract information, and other factors impacting bid viability.
• Create and maintain Salesforce opportunity records.
• Build comprehensive opportunity packages containing supporting documentation and research findings.
• Collaborate with sales representatives and internal stakeholders to gather required information.
• Ensure qualified opportunities are routed quickly to proposal teams to support aggressive submission timelines.
• Maintain a high-volume workload while ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
• Track, organize, and manage opportunities through completion of the intake process.
• Identify and escalate concerns or risks that may impact bid decisions.
• Maintain documentation and records in accordance with established processes and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience working in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience utilizing Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience reviewing RFPs, RFQs, contracts, or proposal-related documentation.
• Experience in telecommunications, sales operations, business operations, or proposal support.
• Experience working in a high-volume production environment.
