The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) could be the place for you! Under the general direction of the Supervisor II, the Supervisor I will serve as the Department of Pesticide Regulation’s (DPR) Business Services Office Manager and is responsible for providing business functions in support of DPR’s program objectives. As a member of Fiscal, Audits and Business Services (FABS), the Supervisor I will contribute and participate in positive team building efforts and customer relations through quality services, use of resources effectively, and deliver services that are innovative and sensitive to customer needs. The Supervisor I will integrate and coordinate multiple business services functions including contract management procurement, asset management, facilities, mail, reprographics, employee transportation and parking, fleet management and records, and form and document management. The Supervisor I reviews purchasing and contract transactions to ensure compliance with state law, regulations and departmental policies and procedures. The Supervisor I maintains knowledge of Fi$cal workflow processes; approves/denies electronic purchase orders; processes purchase order disencumbrance requests for Accounting; verifies reconciliation process of staff CalCard transaction in Fi$cal; establishes encumbrance-only procurement requests. Personnel Management responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and maintaining a skilled team of staff that processes the requisite knowledge and attributes for a successful and service delivery of DPR’s business services functions and related trainings. Coach and mentor staff, prepare annual performance evaluations and proactively address performance deficiencies using the progressive discipline process. Working Conditions The incumbent works in a high rise building and will be sitting for long periods of time in an office cubicle that is equipped with artificial light, temperature control and standard office equipment; Ability to use a computer up to 8 hours a day; Occasional travel by automobile or air may be required to different areas of the State; Travel might include overnight stays. NOTE: This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.
