POSITION PURPOSE
Provide care for plants, trees, lawns, shrubs, flowers, and ground cover at Cal-a-Vie.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide care for all plants, trees, lawns, shrubs, flowers and ground cover on premise.
- Trim, deadhead, prune, and cut back all plants, trees, shrubs and ground cover
- Replant and/or replacing landscaping when necessary
- Clean and maintain landscaping, including but not limited to, mowing and hauling excess debris to green waste dumpster; clean all roads and pathways
- Remove unwanted, dead, or damaged trees
- Ensure plants and lawn areas are fertilized
- Inspect all plants, trees, and all landscaping for overall health
- Administer insecticides for all landscaping; apply weed killer chemicals to landscaped areas
- Perform weeding of landscape areas, pathways, trails vineyards, and gardens
- Operates and maintains equipment safely and wears personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Maintains all gopher traps
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: Certification in Landscape Management
Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of landscaping
Experience: Must have five (5) years’ experience in the landscaping field
Skills/Abilities: Must be able to perform all of the essential functions listed above
Availability: Full-time
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
(i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, unusual environmental conditions, etc.)
- Occasional exposure to pesticide and/or fertilizer chemicals
- Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions
- Occasional use of heavy machinery
- Exposure to weather variations from very hot and humid to cold and rainy
Analysis of Physical Demands (Walking, lifting, equipment, operation, etc.)
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. 1-33% of the time
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, stoop, or reach for intermittent periods 67-100% of time
- Repetitive movement of arm at shoulder for intermittent periods 67-100 % of time
- Repetitive movement of both hands for intermittent periods 67-100% of time
- Pushing/Pulling up to 10 lbs. 67-100% of time
- Ability to twist neck for intermittent periods 67-100% of time
- Ability to climb and lift for intermittent periods 67-100% of time
Salary : $17 - $20
