Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Specialist to support the financial operations of our law firm. This role is responsible for managing client billing, collections, and account reconciliation while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and professionalism in all financial communications. The ideal candidate has experience in accounts receivable within a professional services environment and is comfortable working with attorneys, clients, and internal staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate, review, and distribute client invoices in accordance with firm billing guidelines
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances in a professional and timely manner
• Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries, payment status, and account discrepancies
• Post payments, apply retainers, and process adjustments accurately
• Reconcile client accounts and resolve billing or payment issues
• Coordinate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with engagement terms
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Assist with month-end closing related to accounts receivable
• Support audits, reporting, and ad hoc accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

• 2 years of accounts receivable or billing experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
• Strong understanding of billing cycles, collections, and account reconciliation
• Experience with legal billing software (e.g., Clio, Aderant, Elite, or similar) preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
