Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival with genuine enthusiasm and a friendly demeanor
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Coordinate seating arrangements to maximize table turnover and guest satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with guests regarding wait times, specials, and restaurant policies
- Maintain a clean, organized host stand and ensure all guest areas are welcoming and tidy
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service flow
- Handle guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, providing accurate information and assistance
Requirements
- Prior experience as a host or hostess in a food service or restaurant environment preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Experience in hospitality, serving, or hotel guest services is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Professional appearance and courteous demeanor at all times
