The Pool Server is responsible for delivering refined, attentive, and curated service to guests enjoying the pool and outdoor areas. This role goes beyond traditional poolside service by creating a relaxed yet elevated experience through thoughtful hospitality, anticipation of guest needs, strong menu knowledge, and polished attention to detail.
The ideal candidate is warm, professional, organized, and able to provide luxury service in a casual outdoor setting while maintaining the standards of the hotel and restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival to the pool area
- Provide attentive, curated service throughout the guest experience
- Offer food, beverage, cocktail, wine, and non-alcoholic recommendations based on guest preferences
- Anticipate guest needs before being asked, including water, shade, towels, menus, and check-ins
- Maintain strong knowledge of food and beverage menus, allergens, ingredients, and preparation
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system
- Deliver items promptly and present them with care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool deck, service stations, tables, and lounge areas
- Ensure glassware, silverware, napkins, menus, and service items are clean and properly presented
- Monitor guest satisfaction and communicate any issues to management immediately
- Assist with special requests, celebrations, VIPs, and hotel guest preferences
- Follow all health, sanitation, food safety, and alcohol service guidelines
- Work closely with bartenders, kitchen, servers, runners, housekeeping, and hotel team members
- Handle guest payments, room charges, and closing procedures accurately
- Represent the property with professionalism, warmth, and discretion at all times

Qualifications
- Previous serving, poolside, hotel, resort, or restaurant experience preferred

- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in warm weather conditions
- Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy periods
- Basic food, beverage, cocktail, and wine knowledge preferred
- POS experience preferred
- Must be dependable, professional, and team-oriented
- Must meet all local requirements for alcohol service, if applicable
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to carry trays with food and beverages
- Ability to lift, bend, reach, and move throughout the pool area
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, sun, humidity, and changing weather conditions
