The Metro E Supervisor is a regular, full time, exempt managerial position responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Metro Ethernet (Metro E) construction projects for Comcast. This role provides oversight, direction, and accountability for Metro E Coordinators, internal crews, and subcontractors. The Supervisor ensures projects are properly planned, adequately resourced, and executed in accordance with customer and company standards for quality, safety, and timeliness.
Serving as the primary point of escalation, the Metro E Supervisor manages complex project challenges, maintains consistent communication with Comcast leadership, and ensures compliance with budgetary and contractual obligations. This position has multiple direct reports, is based out of the Statham, Georgia office, and reports directly to the Cable TV Fiber Manager.
This position works a regular schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Intermittent travel throughout the greater Metro Atlanta area, and occasionally elsewhere within the state of Georgia, is required to conduct field based inspections at active job sites. As a condition of employment, this role may require extended work hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel, based on operational and business needs.
- Responsibilities
Metro E Operations Management:
- Provide end to end oversight of Metro E construction projects, including scope review, scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and quality control.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to customer specifications.
- Develop and manage staffing plans, resource allocation, and project schedules to meet customer and company requirements.
- Monitor project budgets, track costs, and review or approve variances to ensure financial accountability.
- Conduct site visits to verify work quality, assess progress, and proactively identify risks or constraints.
- Resolve escalated project issues such as permitting delays, resource conflicts, or technical challenges.
People & Culture:
- Champion and support Company policies, procedures, and values, while holding employees and contractors accountable to established standards.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor Metro E Coordinators, internal crews, and subcontractors, fostering accountability, engagement, and professional development.
- Promote a safety first culture by ensuring adherence to all Company, customer, and regulatory safety standards.
- Train and develop team members to strengthen technical capability, leadership readiness, and overall operational performance.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex personnel or performance related project challenges.
Cross Functional Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison with Comcast management, engineers, and internal leadership to align execution with customer expectations and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate activities across engineering, construction, permitting, and subcontractor teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Direct internal crews and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications, safety requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Support other lines of business as needed to meet broader organizational goals.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Utilize project tracking tools and documentation systems to report progress and issues.
- Ensure accurate, timely completion and submission of all required project documentation, including permits, progress updates, splice records, and as built documentation.
- Maintain consistent project reporting practices to track milestones, risks, costs, and compliance.
- Report progress, risks, and key performance metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification:
- Completion of a High School Diploma or attainment of a General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D).
- Valid Class C License (CDL) license with no restrictions and a clean driving record.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fiber optic construction and project management, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Metro Ethernet construction practices, permitting, and Comcast build requirements.
- Experience managing large splicing teams across multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of internal Cable TV network construction and maintenance practices.
- Proficiency with splicing test equipment (OTDR, Power Meter/Light Source, VFL, etc.) and digital reporting systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking tools.
- Preference given to applicants with either OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Qualifications & Characteristics:
- Visual acuity sufficient to read prints, splicing documentation, and inspect completed work.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on job sites.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in warehouse, yard, and outdoor job sites for shifts of up to 12 hours.
- Ability to climb ladders, telephone poles, and work at heights when providing directed training.

Work Environment:
- Ability to work outdoors with exposure to variable weather conditions, heights, confined spaces, and active equipment, including humidity and seasonal temperature changes.
