Job Overview
The Project Manager owns the complete execution lifecycle of sold kitchen cabinetry projects, beginning immediately after the sales hand-off. This role coordinates all field activities, material delivery, installation quality, change-order processing, and approval of subcontractor payments—ensuring projects finish on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cabinet & Countertop Installation Management
- Supervise cabinet installation crews; enforce quality checklists (level, plumb, scribe, hardware).
- Oversee final countertop installation, sink/appliance integration, and sealing.
- Perform daily field walks and punch-list generation.
2. Change-Order Administration
- Review client-requested modifications with Designer for pricing approval.
- Review formal change orders (description, cost, schedule impact) for client signature.
- Update project budget, purchase orders, and schedule change orders accordingly.
3. Subcontractor & Vendor Payments
- Verify completed milestones against work orders.
- Approve subcontractor invoices
- Resolve disputes over scope of work and defective work.
4. Client Communication & Issue Resolution
- Serve as primary post-sale point of contact for homeowners and contractors. Welcome email post sale with phone call introduction
- Weekly meeting status updates (photos, next steps, delays).
- Manage escalations and secure client sign-off at final walkthrough.
5. Budget & Cost Control
- Track actual vs. budgeted labor, materials, and change-order revenue.
- Close out projects with final cost reconciliation.
6. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain project folders through digital and physical copies.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and proper PPE on job sites.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
- 3 years of residential or commercial construction project management; kitchen/bath remodeling preferred.
- Proven track record coordinating and running successful projects.
- Hands-on experience processing digital change orders and approval of sub-contractor invoices
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CRM software, or similar PM software systems.
- Ability to read architectural plans and cabinet shop drawings from 2020 or similar software
- Solid grasp of NKBA guidelines, cabinet installations, and countertop templating workflows.
Soft Skills
- Exceptional client-facing communication (verbal and written).
- Calm under pressure, skilled at de-escalating homeowner and contractor concerns.
- Strong negotiation with subcontractors and vendor partners.
Other
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites daily. Company provided vehicle with gas card.
- Comfortable lifting 50 lbs. and navigating active construction environments.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
