Title: Grounds Maintenance Technician Location: Blair Nebraska Salary: Up to $18-$22-TEMPORARY- Hours: 4 / 10hr days, Mon - Thurs or Tues - Fri or 5 / 8hr days-negotiable What’s in it for me? Here are just a few things you can expect to do daily: Team member must be able to work and direct personnel in a team-oriented and safety conscious environment. “Safety First” expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures. Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to, sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas following master cleaning schedules and procedures. Expectation of task completion to range from task completion with minimal supervision to task completion with ability to direct other team members”, reliant upon assigned tasks and employee’s development. This position requires constant supervision and follow-up. Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, and snow blowers Perform preventive maintenance on associated equipment, which is to be performed within established standards. Maintain adherence to work schedule and work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shifts as required. Assist in some maintenance, railroad, and groundwork such as (mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow removal). Mow and edge lawns using power mowers and hand edger. Shovel snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots, and spread salt in those areas. Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in all associated operations Must have working knowledge and be trained to operate the following: boom lifts, forklifts, and hand & power tools. “Effectively” communicate with supervisor and customer to accomplish assigned tasks and develop sound customer relations. Maintain adherence to the published work schedule and be available to work overtime as required by demands of the job. Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues, personnel issues, and employee complaints. Work all shifts including holidays and weekends when demanded by the job. Perform other work as defined by company and/or customer. Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures. Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning. Communications with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assist of the company’s goals and objectives Meet physical requirements of the job. Physical requirements of the job will be provided to you prior to employment. Perform assigned tasks in a safety, effective, and efficient manner. Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion. Must maintain positive customer and employee relations. What Makes Me Qualified? Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties Communication/ Expression —The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations). The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
