We are a small, family owned plastic injection molding manufacturer located in Seymour IN. Our team thrives on efficiency, innovation, and teamwork. We are looking for a Production Planner / Materials Buyer who can seamlessly bridge the gap between our production floor and our supply chain.
The Role
If you love puzzle-solving, balancing lead times, and keeping a production floor humming at peak efficiency, this is your spot. In this hybrid role, you will own the scheduling for our injection molding presses and manage the procurement of raw materials (resins, colorants, inserts) and packaging. You will be the central hub ensuring we hit our customer shipping deadlines without bottlenecking our machines or over-inflating inventory.
What You’ll Do
- Own the Schedule: Create, maintain, and optimize daily/weekly production schedules for all injection molding machines and assembly lines to meet customer demand.
- Buy the Material: Procure raw materials (engineered and commodity resins), components, and packaging based on MRP (Material Requirements Planning) suggestions.
- Manage Inventory: Maintain optimal stocking levels to prevent stockouts while keeping inventory carrying costs low; conduct regular cycle counts.
- Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with material suppliers, negotiate pricing/lead times, and monitor vendor performance (OTIF - On Time In Full).
- Troubleshoot on the Fly: Collaborate daily with Production Supervisors and Quality teams to adjust schedules when unexpected downtime, tool maintenance, or urgent orders pop up.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in production scheduling, material planning, or buying within a manufacturing environment (Plastic injection molding experience is a massive plus).
- The "Molding" Mindset: Understanding of injection molding constraints (mold changes, material dry times, color changes) is highly preferred, however can be taught in house.
- Sharp Skills: Excellent analytical problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and a calm-under-pressure communication style.

Schedule
MON. - FRI. (8 hour shifts) with varying opportunities for overtime. or MON-THURS (10 Hour Shifts)
Starting pay is dependent upon previous experience. Merit based raises are given based off of individuals work ethic, quality of work, and attendance.
