Overview
We are seeking a motivated Wire Chopper Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will feed, operate, and maintain specialized industrial machinery that chops wire and cable into small pieces for recycling, while monitoring separation tables to ensure clean copper recovery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment dedicated to environmental stewardship. Must be able to work in an outdoor environment. Must be able to submit pre-employment drug screening. Background check required.
Duties
- Operate wire chopping machines safely and efficiently, ensuring optimal performance.
- Monitor machine operation for quality control, making adjustments as needed.
- Load raw materials into machine.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to maintain safety standards.
- Perform the setup and calibration of machinery for different wire sizes and types.
- Conduct safety inspections before and during operation to prevent accidents.
- Maintain accurate logs of production output, machine maintenance, and safety checks.
- Must be able to meet daily and weekly production goals
Skills
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklift.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of loader operation and general manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety protocols and quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills for teamwork and reporting issues promptly.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions for machine operation and maintenance.
