What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer position at C & C GROUP?
Responsible for planning, designing, and programming projects associated with the installation/operation of DDC and building automation systems. The Controls Engineer serves as a technical liaison between the design team and field/project manager team.
- Designs all hardware and software components, per contracted project documentation, for a complete and functioning system. Adheres to C&C’s engineering standard practices and guidelines. System design includes researching alternatives, pricing, specification sheets, and obtaining suppliers for the verification the design will function as required.
- Develops programming for the operation of HVAC mechanical/electrical equipment per design documents. Programming includes DDC at equipment level and graphical implementation, both 2D & 3D, at upper-level front-end (GUI).
- Researches equipment compatibility, determines product quality, and enhances current system designs.
- Works closely with project management to determine accuracy of sales estimate. This may include a post-sale re-estimate of project to assist with budget management.
- Assists the project manager in developing an accurate engineering time estimate and engineering schedule.
- Assists the project manager in coordinating material orders and deliveries.
- Responsible for final equipment purchasing.
- Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
- Provides assistance with bid document preparation and presentation preparation (technical data, CAD drawings, etc.).
- Generates submittals, O&M’s, and as-built drawings per project requirements.
- Possible travel requirements with occasional overnight stays
