Location: New Bedford, MA (1 HR from Boston) - will help with MA licensure if needed

About the Roles
A mission-driven nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in New Bedford, MA is hiring two Primary Care Physicians (MD or DO) to deliver outpatient primary care to a diverse, underserved patient population.
We have two openings:
- Primary Care Physician — Adult Medicine (general adult primary care panel)
- Primary Care Physician — Women's Health Focus (primary care panel with an emphasis on women's health, built around our women-centered care model)
Both roles are clinic-only, no-OB, no-call, no-weekend positions focused on comprehensive outpatient primary care. You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care in an environment where every patient feels safe, respected, and understood.
NHSC Loan Repayment Program eligible — up to $100,000.
What You'll Do
Clinical Care:
- Provide comprehensive primary care evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions across adult populations
- Deliver preventive care, health screenings, and patient education
- Order and interpret diagnostics: labs, imaging, pathology
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment protocols
- Refer to specialists as clinically indicated
Patient Management:
- Develop comprehensive care plans with appropriate follow-up
- Provide patient education on diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care
- Address social determinants of health using a trauma-informed approach
- Serve as a patient advocate ensuring accessible, equitable primary care
Documentation & Team Collaboration:
- Document thoroughly in Epic EMR
- Collaborate with nursing, medical assistants, and care coordination
- Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to support staff
- Ensure compliance with FQHC, state, and federal regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
Required (both roles):
- MD or DO degree with active Massachusetts medical license
- Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Active DEA license
- Current BLS/ACLS certification
- 1–3 years of primary care physician experience
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
- Commitment to serving diverse, underserved communities
Preferred:
- Epic EMR experience
- FQHC or community health center experience
- Experience working with diverse, underserved patient populations
For the Women's Health–focused role:
- Comfort and experience caring for women across the lifespan within a primary care context
- Interest in being part of a women-centered primary care team

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation:
- $220,000–$260,000 annually
