Executive Director – IDD Services | Southeast Michigan (Multi-County)
Full-Time | $80,000 – $100,000 per year | Wayne, Monroe, Washtenaw, Lenawee & Calhoun Counties
About the opportunity
A rapidly growing platform of home health organizations in Southeast Michigan is seeking a Residential Director to lead residential service operations across a five-county region south and west of Detroit. This is an operator's role designed for an experienced healthcare operations leader who knows how to run high-quality, community-based residential services at scale and keep them performing as the organization grows.
The organization is CARF-accredited, serves thousands of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the Midwest, and is actively expanding. Services in this region center on Community Living Supports (CLS) and Respite, delivered primarily as 24/7 in-home (non-group-home) care under Michigan's Medicaid HCBS waiver programs. The Executive Director owns operations across Wayne, Monroe, Washtenaw, Lenawee, and Calhoun counties — with additional counties to come as the platform grows.
What you'll own
- Oversee residential service operations across the five-county region, with 5 Residential Director reports
- Evaluate operational performance across the territory and build actionable plans to strengthen and stabilize services
- Standardize systems, processes, and practices across counties and service lines
- Ensure regulatory compliance across Michigan Medicaid waiver, CARF, and CMHSP/PIHP requirements
- Build, support, and stabilize front-line leadership teams across the region
- Identify and resolve operational gaps — workforce systems, scheduling and coverage, authorization management, incident reporting
- Drive continuous improvement across the region's operational infrastructure
- Partner with senior leadership as the platform expands into new counties and integrates newly acquired organizations
What we're looking for
- 3 years of operations leadership in healthcare, IDD/HCBS, or residential services
- Demonstrated success building or stabilizing operations
- Experience operating within a multi-site or multi-county environment strongly preferred
- Systems thinker with strong process-building instincts
- Strong change management and people leadership skills
- Financial fluency — budget ownership and performance management
- Bachelor's degree required; this role is based in Southeast Michigan with regular travel across the five-county region
Compensation & structure
- Base salary: $80,000 – $100,000 depending on experience and qualifications
