The Opportunity:
Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Primary Care Physician to join our team. As part of our Boston Health Equity Program, you’ll deliver high-quality primary care while advancing our mission to eliminate health disparities. This role is 80% clinical and 20% administrative, offering the chance to provide comprehensive care while shaping innovative approaches to health equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive, continuing primary care to patients across the lifespan in a community health center setting
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions with a focus on primary and preventive care
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists and services as needed
- Supervise nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical assistants to ensure high-quality care
- Maintain accurate medical records and participate in audits for quality assurance
- Support health promotion and preventive medicine initiatives
- Stay current through continuing education, conferences, and teaching opportunities
- Participate in on-call coverage as assigned
Requirements:
- MD or DO with completed residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Current Massachusetts medical license
- Board certification (or eligibility with path to certification)
- Current BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of medical standards, compliance, and patient-centered care
- Ability to lead, supervise, and collaborate with a diverse care team
