About the Role
The Primary Music Teacher will guide young learners in building musical skills, creativity, and confidence within an international school environment. This role combines classroom instruction, performance preparation, and curriculum development to create an engaging and supportive learning experience for students in early primary through upper primary grades.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver age‑appropriate music lessons that develop students’ musical understanding, performance skills, and appreciation
Teach vocal work, rhythm, instrumental exploration, and basic music theory
Prepare students for concerts, assemblies, and school events
Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages exploration and creative expression
Assess student progress using clear criteria and provide constructive feedback
Collaborate with grade-level teams and other specialist teachers to support interdisciplinary learning
Contribute to curriculum development and refinement for the primary music program
Maintain music equipment and manage resources effectively
Participate in professional development sessions, school meetings, and community activities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a closely related field
Teaching certification or license
Experience teaching music to primary-aged students
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage young learners
Ability to design and deliver developmentally appropriate music lessons
Comfortable working in a multicultural, multilingual school community
Strong communication and collaboration skills
