Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, LA. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes. The Staff Accountant will prepare and analyze financial statements, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and relevant regulations. Daily tasks include managing accounts payable and receivable, reviewing financial data for accuracy, and collaborating with departments to resolve discrepancies. The role also supports internal and external audits, contributes to process improvements in the finance function, and provides financial reporting to leadership as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in general accounting principles, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes in a business or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications
