Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence
- Provide companionship and emotional support to foster positive social interactions and reduce feelings of isolation
- Administer medication reminders and monitor health status as directed by healthcare professionals
- Support clients with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and transportation to appointments or errands
- Observe and report any changes in clients’ physical or mental health to appropriate healthcare providers
- Follow care plans meticulously to ensure safety protocols are maintained at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including daily logs and incident reports
Requirements
- Prior experience in caregiving or home health services is preferred, especially with diverse populations including geriatrics and post-acute care settings
- Strong understanding of medical-surgical procedures, outpatient care, and sub-acute care environments
- Experience working in hospital or teaching hospital settings with exposure to emergency medicine or Level I Trauma Centers is a plus
- Knowledge of Level II trauma center protocols and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) procedures is advantageous
- Ability to handle OR (Operating Room) environments or provide support in medical-surgical units is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed care instructions accurately
