- WORK YEAR:** Full time: 7.5 hours per day/Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm/12 months/220 days annually (Prorated upon hire)

Under the supervision of the Early Education Programs and Services (EEPS) Senior Director and the direction of the assigned Program Manager, the Early Learning and Care Family Navigator works with children ages 0-5, families, early care and education programs, schools/districts, and service providers to navigate the early learning and care systems of support ensuring young children have opportunities to reach their optimal development. The Early Learning and Care Family Navigator -will work with the EEPS team to develop case plans with specialists and staff from early care and education programs, as well as to conduct assessments, provide resources and referral navigation, offer ongoing case oversight throughout the year, facilitate playgroups, and deliver trainings for families and staff.
Program Description
EEPS provides high-quality, diverse early care and education programs. Services are offered through qualified professionals who provide environments, opportunities, and foundations for individualized education, emotional, social, and physical growth. EEPS administers, coordinates, and delivers early care and education programs to children and families throughout Butte County.
**EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: [May include, but is not limited to the following.]**
- Works with teachers, families, specialists, and community agencies in assessing the needs of children and/or families
- Refer families to appropriate community resources
- Serves as a resource regarding community services available to families
- Develops and coordinate case plans that support the whole child including service planning, monitoring, follow-up, and linkage that ensure needs are being met
- Assists families in transition to elementary school
- Provides field support to children, families, and agency partners throughout Butte County
- Supports gathering and preparing materials for childrens needs for the coordination of services in early learning programs
- Maintains accurate electronic and paper files on all children using specified data platforms
- Gathers, organizes, and reports data to the assigned Program Manager
- Organizes, and implements playgroups for families
- Maintains ongoing communication and coordination with direct service staff, specialists, and community-based agencies and services
- Gives presentations and training for early care and education providers, parents, and the community, including possible training in child development, family strengthening, school readiness, social-emotional skills development, and trauma-informed practice
- Collaborates with community organizations to coordinate, disseminate information and enhance service delivery to families
- Participates in required orientation, training sessions, meetings, and planning activities
- Initiates new program components with Butte County Office of Education (BCOE) managers to enhance the quality and comprehensiveness of community support
Education and Experience:
- An Associates degree or equivalent units from an accredited college or university in the fields of early education, child development, psychology, social work, health, or a related field
- Two years of experience working with children ages 0-5 and low-income families
- Two years of successful experience in coordinating and facilitating group interactions, meetings, and/or training preferred
- Demonstrated successful experience working with educational or social service programs and/o services
A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in the fields of early education, child development psychology, social work, health, or a related field
Ability To
- Provide case management services to youth and families, applying trauma-informed principles and practices
- Facilitate positive working relationships between early care and education programs, schools, service providers, families, youth, and EEPS staff
- Provide support to families and youth using in-home visitation and off-site safety practices
