MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (Position Summary)
This position reports to the Warehouse Manager. A fast-paced environment requiring excellent communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Business & Pleasure Co. specializes in outdoor goods across beach, pool, and home. These goods range from weight of 0-100lbs per product and packages for oversized products that can be complex when receiving and shipping.
The Receiving/Returns Specialist will ensure all incoming and outgoing materials are properly timed, handled and documented. In addition, the warehouse supervisor will work closely with all teams across the business that require information on all products which include, but not limited to inbound products, samples, marketing shoots, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receiving
- 1-2 days of processing all DTC returns and working close to the customer service team through their process and procedures
- Capable of performing the duties of the warehouse team in their absence and/or in the event of increased workflow or special projects.
- Participate in all physical inventory activities
- Most be able to lift up to 85 lbs. and assist the teams in offloading a FTL
- Maintain, edit and create forms to assist in tracking & data collection for the department
- Schedule all pickup and delivery to/from customers on an ongoing basis (Flexport)
- Shipping
- Work closely with two dispatch experts (B2B and DTC) to assist in the daily flow outgoing goods
- Co-lead in the operational daily priorities to ensure daily shipping deadlines are met
- LTL booking experience a plus
- Backoffice/Systems/Teams
- Most have previous experience in a WMS and understand the concepts of inventory management
- Most have previous experience in a WMS and understand the concepts of a receiving process and assist Accounts Payable in a three-way match process
- Work closely with teams for stock transfers across owned locations, retail locations, Amazon, etc.
- Commit to 24-hour response times on all things email across internal and external parties
- Be able to communicate and execute across multiple requests from inventory checks, sample request, marketing pulls, photo-shoots, etc.
- Leadership
- Provide coaching to direct reports while identifying opportunities for development
- Provide support, coaching and encouragement to the DC teams to maximize productivity
- Coordinate and evaluate operations procedures for improvement in total quality, accuracy, productivity, service, and cost effectiveness.
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly
- Must be able to stand for 8 hour shifts
- Ability to be forklift certified
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
· 3 years in a traditional pick pack ship operation for B2B or DTC
· 3 years in working close to a receiving function that touches on physical receiving and systems management of product receiving
· 3 years’ experience in a traditional WMS with focus on inventory management from receiving, shipping, cycle counts, etc.
· 1 years’ experience with DTC returns utilizing a returns portal/process. Loop/Redo experience a plus!
· Shipstation experience a plus (outbound DTC)
· LTL outbound experience a plus (GlobalTranz for DTC and B2B)
· Flexport experience a plus (Inbound transportation company)
· Demonstrates concern for precision and thoroughness
· Understanding and experience working with shipments going to big-box retailers and distribution centers
· Knowledge of inventory control systems and processes and root cause analysis
· Knowledge of safety requirements and material handling equipment operation
