Shift: Evening/Night | 10-hour shifts | Primarily 9:00 PM–7:00 AM, with rotation to 12:00 PM–10:00 PM as needed | 34.5 guaranteed hours/week

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to support acute care pharmacy operations. The pharmacist will be responsible for medication order verification, product checking, clinical pharmacy services, and sterile compounding verification while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective medication management.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders and review appropriateness of therapy.
• Perform product checking and medication release.
• Provide remote verification for sterile compounding.
• Conduct clinical pharmacy activities including IV-to-PO conversion and renal dose adjustments.
• Perform aminoglycoside and anticoagulation dosing.
• Support inpatient pharmacy services based on department needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow medication safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License; ACT 10 candidates may be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• At least 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Residency-trained pharmacists or candidates with 3 years of experience preferred.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with inpatient pharmacy operations.
• Comfortable handling standard pediatric medication orders.

Schedule & Additional Details

• 7/70 schedule for primarily evening/overnight coverage.
• Work schedule typically begins Wednesday.
• Approximately 30 hours one week and 40 hours the following week during the two-week pay period.
• Weekend coverage up to every other weekend.
• Rotating holiday coverage.
• No scheduled on-call requirement; pharmacists may be asked to provide coverage for sick calls.
• Orientation typically 1–2 weeks depending on role specialization.
• Business casual dress; facility scrubs provided when entering sterile environments.
• Level II Trauma setting.
