Travel Registered Nurse – PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
West Hollywood, California
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Mid Shift – 3x12 Hours (2:00 PM – 2:30 AM)
Pay Rate: $55/hr to $60/hr
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment. This role involves caring for patients recovering from anesthesia across a wide variety of surgical specialties. The ideal candidate is experienced in post-operative care, critical monitoring, and sedation recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients across multiple specialties
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from general, regional, and conscious sedation anesthesia
- Perform continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring
- Assess and manage pain, airway stability, and post-op complications
- Administer medications and IV therapies
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient recovery
- Float across different PACU/pre-op areas as required
Required Clinical Skills
- Post-anesthesia recovery care
- Conscious sedation monitoring
- Cardiac monitoring & dysrhythmia management
- Ventilator patient care
- IV therapy & medication administration
- Pulmonary artery line monitoring
- Pain management (PCA, epidural, sedation)
Education Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN)
License Requirements
- Active California RN License (must be active at time of submission)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience
- Experience in high-acuity or high-volume settings preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Requirements
- Floating required across PACU/pre-op units
- Weekend shifts as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Must be flexible with scheduling (block scheduling available, but no special requests)
