- Every other weekend coverage required

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our Nutrition Services team. The ideal candidate will provide evidence-based nutritional care, conduct assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through proper nutrition and enjoys working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nutrition assessments and reassessments for adult and geriatric patients
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
- Monitor intake and output, calorie counts, and nutritional status
- Manage enteral (tube feedings) and parenteral nutrition (TPN)
- Provide education on food-drug interactions and dietary recommendations
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other units within the facility as needed (within scope of practice)
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (required)
- Completion of an accredited dietetic internship (required)
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian
- Previous travel experience not required (first-time travelers welcome)
- Experience in a community hospital, LTAC, or teaching hospital preferred
Certifications & Licenses:
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) – required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
- State Dietitian License (Georgia) – required
Skills:
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EMR charting systems
- Strong knowledge of calorie counts, enteral/parenteral nutrition, and food-drug interactions
- Ability to develop comprehensive nutrition care plans
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
Work Setting:
- Medical Setting: Adult Outpatient/Clinic
- Patient Age Groups: Adults & Geriatrics
- Patient Ratios: Approx. 1:15 during day shift
- Daily Census: ~139 beds
- Collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment
Physical Setting:
- Healthcare facility environment
- May involve standing/walking for extended periods, bending, and light lifting when necessary
Additional Details:
- Orientation: 24 hours provided
- Compliance: Full compliance required before start date
- Major holidays may be required as per assignment period
