Job Summary
Under the direction of the ELOP Director, Site Administrator, and/or classroom teachers, the ASES/ELO Activities Assistant supports the implementation of after-school and expanded learning programs for TK–8 students. This position provides academic assistance, enrichment activities, and supervision to promote student learning, engagement, and well-being. Responsibilities include working with individuals and small groups, supporting homework completion, assisting with enrichment activities, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, and collaborating with school staff and families. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to support students of diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to fostering positive academic, social, and emotional development. Hours typically are 2:45-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, but there is flexibility.
Requirements / Qualifications
-Must hold an Associates degree or have 48 units of college credit or have passed the TCOE Instructional Aide Proficiency Test. - Prior experience working with elementary and middle school students, preferably in an educational setting or after-school program preferred. - Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate learning strategies. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision. - Patience, empathy, and the ability to establish positive relationships with students of diverse backgrounds. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines. - Proficient computer skills and familiarity with educational software and learning platforms preferred. - First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). - Must pass a background check and comply with all school policies and regulations.
