Job Summary
Under the direction of a credentialed special education teacher and site administration, the Special Education Paraprofessional supports TK–8 students with disabilities in accessing curriculum, developing social-emotional and behavioral skills, and building independence. Responsibilities include providing one-on-one and small group instructional support aligned with IEPs, assisting with classroom management, implementing behavior support plans, and supporting students’ academic and personal needs in a safe and inclusive learning environment. The position requires collaboration with staff, maintaining confidentiality, and a strong commitment to supporting diverse learners. This position could potentially be combined with another part-time paraprofessional position to create a full-time position.
Requirements / Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required Associate’s degree or completion of 48 college units, or passage of a paraprofessional exam (per California requirements) Experience working with children, preferably in a school or special education setting Pass a background check (fingerprinting)
