WE ARE GROWING Burnetti, P.A. has been serving the injured people of Florida for over 30 years and is seeking a dedicated "hands on" Accounting Manager with prior management experience in our Lakeland office.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Pay Range: Based on experience
Primary Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Documents and updates departmental best practices and SOPs.
- Oversees staff to ensure daily tasks meet all regulatory, contractual, and legal requirements.
- Keeps up with industry, professional, and technology trends to ensure efficient legal and regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for the management of all accounts, including Operating, Trust, and subsidiary accounts related to other companies, and resolve related accounting issues.
- Manages daily accounting and general ledger updates in accounting software.
- Completes journal entries and adjustments before month-end reporting.
- Reconciles accounts and resolves errors with relevant parties.
- Maintain and update PCLaw and Quickbooks accounting software; resolve issues with technical support.
- May help others develop and install accounting systems, methods, procedures, and controls.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for external accountants. Supplies research or audits as requested by external accountants.
- Manages monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Calculates monthly attorney bonuses and manages fee adjustments, including verifying personal referrals.
- Coordinates with vendors such as banks and external accounting firms, supplying required information and reports for accurate financial records.
- Manages the financial aspects of the client closing process, such as issuing final checks, allocating fees, maintaining files and documentation, and recording general ledger entries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, finance, or statistics; CPA is a plus
- Must have 2-5 years of accounting or corporate finance experience
- Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting databases and software programs( PC Law, Quickbooks)
- Professional appearance and strong work ethic
- Strong analytical skills with strong understanding of general ledger and GAAP
- Excellent problem-solving skills and good use of logic
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
