Agricultural / Spray Applicator
Burnett Dairy Cooperative is looking for a dependable Agricultural/Spray Applicator to join our Agronomy team. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating modern agricultural equipment, and playing an important role in helping local farmers succeed, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Do
As an Agricultural/Spray Applicator, you'll safely operate John Deere application equipment while applying fertilizers and crop protection products according to agronomist recommendations. You'll also help maintain equipment, keep accurate application records, and support agronomy operations throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Operate agricultural equipment and vehicles safely.
- Apply dry fertilizer and spray products accurately according to recommendations.
- Mix and apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and foliar nutrients following label requirements and state regulations.
- Monitor weather conditions and field conditions to ensure quality applications.
- Maintain application equipment and complete accurate application records.
- Assist with equipment and facility maintenance outside of the application season.
- Follow all company safety policies and use required personal protective equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of agricultural application experience.
- Minnesota or Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator License required.
- Class A CDL preferred, but not required.
- Forklift operation experience preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of commercial application equipment and safe operating procedures.
- Ability to follow written instructions, maps, and work orders.
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
- Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and balance.
- Occasionally climb ladders up to 30 feet.
- Sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule
This position requires reliable attendance and flexibility to work evenings and weekends during busy seasons. Most work is performed outdoors around agricultural equipment and machinery.
