Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch work crews, drivers, and equipment to appropriate locations according to project timelines and operational needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all field personnel, providing clear instructions and logistical support to ensure a seamless workflow.
- Monitor the progress of all assignments and adjust schedules as necessary to manage unforeseen delays or changes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of routes, schedules, dispatches, and other operational communications.
- Utilise dispatch and routing software to optimise routes for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure all operations strictly adhere to company policies and industry safety regulations.
- Liaise effectively with project managers and other internal departments to ensure cohesive coordination and successful project outcomes.
- Professionally address and resolve any issues, enquiries, or emergencies that may arise during daily operations.
- Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics coordination role, preferably within the construction or a related industry.
- Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
- The capacity to remain calm and make effective, logical decisions while working under pressure.
- Proficiency with dispatch software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- A secondary school diploma or equivalent is required; further qualifications in logistics or a related field would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with the Houston, Texas metropolitan area and its transport network is highly desirable.
