- Roadway design and plan preparation efforts for INDOT and local projects in Indiana
- Assist with preparing construction drawings, grading plans, drainage plans, and utility plans using MicroStation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Support the preparation of cost estimates, technical specifications, and project documentation
- Assist with horizontal and vertical roadway alignment calculations and geometry design
- Participate in stormwater management design, erosion control plans, and environmental compliance efforts
- Conduct utility research and coordination with local agencies and utility providers
- Assist with permit application preparation and agency coordination for INDOT and local jurisdictions
- Review and respond to plan review comments from clients and regulatory agencies
- Participate in field reviews and site visits to support design efforts
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams including traffic engineers, surveyors, and environmental specialists
- Learn and apply INDOT design standards, AASHTO guidelines, and local agency requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program (recent graduates or graduating within 6 months encouraged to apply)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- 0-2 years of experience in civil/transportation engineering (internships and co-ops count)
- Familiarity with roadway design software such as MicroStation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or willingness to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members and contribute to collaborative design efforts
